Bloggy Carnival Giveaway!

Today Emma turned two-and-a-half. To commemorate this momentous occasion we decided to hold a giveaway in her honor. Since I am a big fan of automation, efficiency, and cycle-time reduction, I want to hear what software products or web-based services you use to get things done. You wanna know what you’re playing for? (Can you tell I love Survivor). Then take a look at the official rules below:

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button

What is the prize:
$25 Target Gift Card

How you can win:
Leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite tech tip (i.e. any tools or web services you use that make you more efficient and productive). For an example of such services click here.

Who is eligible:
You must have a US mailing address. You don’t have to be a blogger to win, just supply a valid e-mail address (don’t forget to include this or I won’t be able to contact you if you are the winner).

When the giveaway ends:
Friday, April 25. I’ll e-mail the winner on the 26th. If the winner doesn’t respond within four business days, a new winner will be drawn.

  1. My favorite tool is Roboform for filling in forms. Thanks for the giveaway!

  2. I use Photobucket for storing/editing photos for my blog, etc. They’ve made some nice upgrades over the past year…

Thanks for offering a great prize!

  3. Roboform is a form filler and saves passwords. I love it!

  4. Hmm… I do love Picasa for being able to sort and store our gazillion photos. And the history feature in Firefox has been pretty helpful recently–my kids like to watch snippets of stuff on Youtube, and that helps me find the videos they watched the most recently so they can watch them again… 😉

    Happy 2.5, Emma!

  5. Emma is precious!

I use Google Reader to keep up with recent postings on my ever-growing list of blogs I like to read! I love the “star” feature that allows you to mark favorite posts for future reference.

  6. I use Google Calendar to keep up track of our meetings and activities. Also, if you have forms to fill out or if you are like me and like to request freebies, Roboform is the way to go!

  7. I love Jott! I have it programmed into my phone so that when I’m driving, whatever pops into my head, I can phone Jott, leave a message, and get an email with the text of my phone message.

You can set it up to email other people as well, but I haven’t done that yet.

It’s so nice to sit down to my computer and see an email that says, “Prepare lesson,” or “Schedule baby’s doctor appointment,” or even “Hey you are one great mom! Thanks for all you do.” 😉

  8. I use roboform for entering information when requesting samples. It saves lots of time.

  9. I just got Norton 360, and I love it!
I would love to win this great prize! Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. Google reader! I couldn’t live without it! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  18. I love Gmail-it’s so much more useable than any other program I’ve tried. Also, I love the StoryBook creator-a free download from Creative Memories that is a digital scrapbooking software for your computer. The finished books are gorgeous. Thanks!

    Happy half-birthday dear Emma,
    Happy half-birthday to you.

I live by Bloglines, and use it almost exclusively — I never visit actual blogs unless I really want to watch a video.

  24. interesting idea! I would have to say that my best tip is that my hubby makes spreadsheets for EVERYTHING…from our household finances, to car mileage, to his own softball statistics…of course, the only one of those that makes our life more manageable is the household finances spreadsheet, but I digress…

  25. My browser, Firefox, saves me tons of time. I love the “favorites” toolbar that goes across the top of the browser frame. I put the sites that I visit several times per day on that for easy, easy access.

  26. i cannot live without my iCal! it is my organizing savior lol!

    Thanks for the great giveaway!!!

  31. My fav tech tool is Picasa. I can upload pix to my computer easily, send them in an email, upload them to my blog, edit them and much more all from one area.

  32. Well, my husband is the tech savvy one around here, I know ZILCH about what we use, LOL. I do well to use google, gmail, and blogger;) He takes the photos, uploads them, edits them, and sends me the completed ones:)

  33. TO use Thunderbird instead of Outlook Express. I have had so much trouble with OUtlook and my husband suggested I try Thunderbird I was determined not too but got so fed up with Outlook that I tried and I will never go back so much easier to deal with.

  34. Georgina S says

    RoboForm hands down!

  35. One word: GMAIL!
I love Gmail, really! The inbox, the g-talk, the organization… everything!

  36. I’ve been using Google Calendar plus Remember the Milk (both free) for a few months now and it has really kept me on track! As soon as I get something in the mail or on an e-mail about an event–I put it on the calendar. It really helps with my mommy brain. I also have the iGoogle as my home page with my gmail, Remember the Milk, and Google Calendar prominent, so it’s all in one place and I can see my day quickly at a glance!

  37. Great giveaway – please count me in!

I love Google, there are so many wonderful features!

  38. I love my Google toolbar that fills out forms automatically. Thanks for the great giveaway. I love the picture:)

  39. I can’t think of any “techie” tips except to use websites to pay bills and do banking, instead of paying for postage and trips to the bank. Along those same lines, online shopping instead of shopping at stores — if you can get free shipping and no tax — saves on time and gas, too!
