Every muscle in my body aches. It's been a long
hard weekend, but we got a major task completed (well mostly at
least). Fifteen hours and two coats of paint later Emma's room
(what we affectionately refer to now as the Neapolitan Suite)
is completely painted. We still have to add the border that
binds the two colors (Pink Punch & Cornerstone) but I will
wait about two weeks for the paint to fully cure before applying
it. I am just glad it is over and Emma's room is ready for her
furniture. The pictures make it look easy, but believe me it was
not. The prep-work
alone
took four hours. After the work was complete we took some time
to open and assemble some of the gifts Emma has already received.
We needed something small to fill in for Emma as we tested the
stroller,
car seat, and bouncer.
Emma (our little frog) was an eager and willing
participant.
Elena's Mom came over
on Saturday and took Elena out all day so that she and Emma could
be away from the fumes. They shopped, had dinner, and spent some
good quality time together.
Earlier this week we
caught-up with Anna Christina and Andre on their way back from
Brazil. It's amazing how 2 months can change a kid. Andre was
bigger and cuter than ever. Anna Christina brought back a beautiful
pink sweater to keep Emma warm along with a handmade towel from
Junior's Mom. We look forward to using them soon.
Later this week we
will meet with Elena's OB-GYN for a regular checkup. Our next
ultrasound is scheduled for September 1st.
