Wow! All I can say is Wow! There are not many times in a person's life when people put their lives on hold, and essentially stop everything to celebrate a special occasion for another couple. It is an unusual and humbling experience to say the least, but that is what Elena, and I had the privilege of experiencing this Saturday as we celebrated the immanent arrival of our precious Emma with our friends and family. Being somewhat shy by nature it is difficult for me to express in words how special a day Saturday was for us, and how deeply touched we were by all those that were able to come out to support us during this most special time. Attending events such as these requires great personal sacrifices from everyone involved, we realize this and are deeply thankful to all of you who provided the most precious and priceless gift a person can give, your time.

It is also incredibly important for Elena, Emma, and Me to acknowledge and pay special thanks to Araceli, Ceci, and Abuelita Sarita, for coordinating, setting-up, and hosting this event for us. From food to flowers, logistics, and clean-up, it was their effort and great personal sacrifices over a period of several months that allowed us to have a day as beautiful and memorable as what we experienced on Saturday. There are no arrangement of words, either written or spoken, that could adequately convey just how much we appreciate all that you collectively sacrificed to make Emma's Baby Shower as beautiful and spectacular as it was. Your sincere and unconditional love for us and Emma was clearly visible in every arrangement and detail. We are truly blessed.

It was really nice to see so many of our friends and family members in attendance. For some it's been months, for others years. There were new faces as well, as families have grown and friendships have broadened. We took 442 pictures and over an hour of video (God bless the digital age). I am sure when Emma is my age she will read this and think "Digital? How old-fashioned.", as she captures her own child's shower with her state of the art holographic video camera to be played back in thin air, viewed from any angle, and with the latest SORAF (Simulated Object Resistance And Feedback) technology. She's going to be a tech geek if she is anything like me. :)

I hope everyone had as great a time as we did. We enjoyed it so much we're thinking about having a second child... ;) But first things first...
