We've come a long way Baby!!! In more ways than one. This morning
we saw Emma for the first time in 4D. The pictures above are from
her photo-shoot and are 3D representations. The fourth dimension
is "time" which means we saw moving versions of those pictures. The
technician
was
kind
enough to snap some 3D images for us to share with our family. It's
amazing how technological advances can provide us with an electronic
window into the world of our unborn child.
Emma is so pretty.
I already printed out the above pictures and posted them on my
cubicle wall
which has now become my little Emma shrine. I have her 18 and 21
week ultrasound pictures posted there as well. I love to look at
her and can't wait to hold her in my arms. Emma is now 5 lbs 6
ounces. That's
a-one spicy meatball!!! It is estimated that Emma will gain half
a pound a week so with approximately six weeks to go she should
be a ripe 8 lbs 6 ounces on her birthday. Elena is getting worried
about delivering Emma. I definitely can't wait to get past that
milestone and know that both Mommy and Baby are doing fine. Elena
is going to be a great Mom and Emma is lucky to have her.
I talked to my Boss
and will be taking three weeks off once Emma is here under the
Family
Medical Leave Act. I want to make sure that I am there to
care for Elena as she heals and recovers from labor and
to feed, change, nurture, and comfort Emma as she gets accustomed
to her new world.
